10 OZONE-MICRO-CELL porovnání s otevřenými elektrolytickými buňkami díky přímému kontaktu ozonově selektivní anody s vodivou iontovou membránou je možné provozovat Ozone-micro-cell s velice vysokými intenzitami proudu (>1A/cm2) tyto intenzity proudu přesahují limitující intenzity proudu typické pro koncentrace iontů přirozeně rozpuštěných ve vodě (< mA/cm2) podíl nežádoucích oxidačních činitelů (Cl2, chlornanů atd.) může být odhadnut z kvocientu limitující intenzity proudu a efektivní intenzity proudu. 11 Materiál anody PbO 2 v porovnání s B-dopovaným diamantem Na povrchu diamantových elektrod se během štěpení vody vytvářejí volné hydroxylové radikály (OH+). Tyto radikály ihned reagují s vodou za vzniku různých vedlejších produktů (H2O2, ozón, organické peroxidy, atd.) Na PbO 2 elektrodách bylo prokázáno, že proces probíhá přes reaktivní formu adsorbovaného kyslíku, který reaguje specificky s O 2 na O 3 Při použití kapalných, vodných elektrolytů není, PbO 2 dlouhodobě stabilní. Ale při kontaktu s pevnou membránou PbO 2 je koroze účinně blokována. U mnoha průmyslových aplikací byla prokázána životnost tisíce hodin.
