Past continuous Minulý čas průběhový
Past continuous Děj probíhající v určitém bodu v minulosti. Dočasnost (temporary situation). Nedokončenost (action was not completed). Specifické užití minulého času průběhového – má schopnost odkazovat k budoucím jevům v minulosti (The competition was taking place the next day).
Past continuous - affirmative was doing my homework. He/she/it sleeping the whole night. We/you/they were walking in the park.
Past continuous - negative I was playing tennis. I wasn´t playing tennis. (S)he/it She was watching TV. She wasn´t watching TV. We/you/they We were having dinner. We weren´t having dinner.
Past continuous - question I was watching TV. Were you watching TV? Yes, I was. / No, I wasn´t. (S)he/it He was doing his homework. Was he doing his homework? Yes, he was. / No, he wasn´t. We/you/they They were walking in the park. Were they walking in the park? Yes, they were. / No, they weren´t.
