Participle clauses Přechodníky se objevují převážně v psaném formálním a literárním stylu. Lze s nimi zjednodušit vedlejší vztažné věty. Přítomné příčestí – writing – nám nahrazuje sloveso v činném rodě. Minulé příčestí – written – nám nahrazuje sloveso v trpném rodě.

Participle clauses Přítomné příčestí můžeme použít i u sloves, které běžně v angličtině nejsou v průběhovém čase. He gave me the ticket knowing he couldn´t go to the cinema. Wanting to make the best strawberry ice cream he used the cream and fresh fruit.
