Další příklady a výjimky Ve vedlejší podmínkové větě druhého řádu se často místo tvaru WAS objevuje tvar WERE i tam, kde to není běžné. It‘s cold. I would wear a coat if I was you (nebo if I were you.) We would go out if the weather was better (nebo it the weather were better.) V hlavní větě podmínkového souvětí se může namísto tvaru WOULD (bych) použít tvar COULD (mohl bych). We don‘t have a car. If we had a car, we could travel more. I work a lot. If I didn‘t work so much, I could spend more time with friends.
