Restaurants A restaurant is an establishment which prepares and serves food and drinks and customers pay for it. Restaurants offer regular meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner or special meals at occasions as weddding, birthday and graduation. Obr. 1
Types of restaurants Restaurants often specialize in certain types of food. We can go and eat in ethnic restaurants : French, Asian, Indian, Mexican etc., seafood restaurant : they sell food taken from the sea, vegetarian restaurants : they sell food not including meat, fast food restaurants : they sell hamburgers, pizzas, fried chicken. Restaurant´s employees and staff The waiter or waitress takes the orders and serves meals. The maitre d´ welcome customers and seats them. The bartender (barman) prepares and serves drinks at the bar. The head chef is responsible for food. The sommelier is wine professional. Obr. 3
