3 History of the Czech cuisine
Czech cuisine was influenced by inhabitants of Celtic and Slavic origin, by the kitchen of neighbouring countries, some dishes were domesticated. Widely were consumed cereals, legumes, mushrooms and berries. Milk, eggs and cheese were very spread. Meat was rarely part of meals. History of the Czech cuisine

Czech cuisine was influenced by the development of crafts. Besides the typical preparation of meat - cooking, began to use cooking on a grill. Butchers offered besides the raw meat also smoked meat and ham. In the 15th century become very popular festive cakes, began to produce different meat products. In the 16th century in the Czech cuisine were used exotic spices, fish, exotic game.

5 Eating habits Czechs eat three meals a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. For Breakfast commonly are eaten muesli, yoghurt, bread and eggs, prepared in the different ways. Lunch is the main meal of the day. It usually consists of soup, main course and dessert. Soups like the broths- beef, poultry or thickned , whose foundation is meat, vegetables and legumes. The main course is often variously prepared meat, sauce and side dish. For dessert is served some sweet. Dinner is mostly just a light meal, for example salad and bread.

6 Traditional Czech dishes
Very famous are main dishes as roast sirloin of beef, roast pork, dumplings and sauerkraut. The dumplings can be eaten as separate sweet food when they are filled with fruit, sprinkled with cheese and topped with melted butter. Typical Czech dishes are potato pancakes. These can be eaten either as a side dish or as a separate dish. Very favourite are sweet dishes like apple strudel, pancakes, Czech buns, Czech doughnuts.
