Present Simple Tense USE: for facts, repeated actions and permanent states e.g. He works as a lawyer. laws of nature and general truth e.g. The sun sets in the west. timetables, programmes e.g.The bus leaves at 8 a.m.

emotions, feelings e.g. I love holidays. sports commentaries, narration and reviews e.g. Beckham scores a goal! (sports commentary) e.g. Johnny Depp stars in Tim Burton´s new film. (review) hobbies and daily routine e.g. I get up at 6.45 a.m. e.g. I go swimming in my free time.

Time expressions Always, often, usually, sometimes, never, hardly ever, occasionaly, rarely, every day/week etc, once, twice, in the morning etc. e.g. She hardly ever goes to the theatre. e.g. I never do household chores. e.g. I rarely see him. e.g. I always drive to work.

Present Continuous USE for actions that are taking place right now, at the moment of speaking e.g. He´s doing his homework at the moment. for temporary actions, actions taking place around the time of speaking. e.g. I´m reading Harry Potter now. e.g. I´m working nights this week.

If we have arranged to do something in the near future. e.g. I´m seeing Peter this afternoon. for bad habits which happen too often ( with adverb always) e.g. John is always losing his keys. for changing situations e.g. Our town is becoming more and more polluted.
