2 Quantifiers Quantifiers- (kvantifikátory) vyjadřují množství
Much a many(mnoho)- označují množství a zpravidla se používají v záporu a v otázce. I don´t have much food in the house. I have´nt bought many T-shirts this year. Do many students come here? Is there much beer in the jug?

3 Quantifiers Otázka How much? - použijeme ji při dotazu na nepočitatelné podstatné jméno. Otázka How many? - použijeme ji při dotazu na počitatelné podstatné jméno.

4 Quantifires A glass of water, juice... A bottle of milk, wine.. A cup of tea, coffee.. A spoonful of sugar, coffee, solt.. A slice/ piece of bread,toast, cake,cheese, salami... A piece of information, luggage,news, advice, homework.. Some money, petrol, snow... U všech uvedených podst.jmen můžeme použít some. Některá nepočitatelná podst. jména mohou být použita i jako počitatelná: Nepočitatelná: I like tea . Her hair is red. I haven´t got time. I always have sugar in my tea. Počitatelná I will have two teas, please.(=cups of tea) There is a hear in my tea. We had a good time.

5 Quantifires Počitatelná podstatná jména:
House/houses, dog/ dogs, student/students Můžeme je spočítat: one dog, two dogs, three students.... U počitatelných podstatných jmen lze použít a, some, the. Nepočitatelná podstatná jména: nelze u nich použít a nebo one, two, three. Lze však použít some nebo the. We need to buy some coffee and yoghurt. Look at the rain!

6 Quantifires Prostuduj příklady s a lot of:
A lot of/ lots of má stejný význam: There are a lot of girls. There are lots of girls. V mluveném jazyce se v oznamovací větě dává přednost a lot of/ lots of. V psaném jazyce se dává přednost much a many: There are many girls.

7 Quantifires A lot of/ lots of užíváme: A lot of water lots of wine
S nepočitatelnými podstatnými jmény: A lot of water lots of wine There is a lot of water in Nile. ( NE are!) S počitatelnými podstatnými jmény: Množné číslo: a lot of books lots of students

8 Quantifires Prostudujte příklad s a few( pár) a a little( trochu):
He has a few butterflies. He has a little information about them. A few se používá s počitatelnými podstanými jmény. A little se používá s nepočitatelnými podstanými jmény.
