2 Anotace Tento materiál vychází z potřeb učebnice Project2 (červený). Problematice členů se věnuji pouze v rozsahu, který je potřebný pro část Unit 4 Food. Ve třídě se mi osvědčilo před vyplněním pracovního listu nejdříve označit počitatelná a nepočitatelná podstatná jména (C x UC) a současně promítnout barevnou tabulku (č. 5)

3 Určité a neurčité členy v souvislém textu
Člen neurčitý (The Indefinite Article) Má tvar ”A” před vyslovovanou souhláskou (a boy, a year, a university, a yellow apple) a tvar ”AN” před vyslovovanou samohláskou (an apple, an orange, an hour, an honest man). 2.      Používame je ve spojení s osobami, s věcmi, o kterých se zmiňujeme poprvé a nejsou blíže určeny. 3.      Používá se pouze před počitatelnými podstatnými jmény v jednotném čísle a jeho význam je NĚJAKÝ,JEDEN, JAKÝSI. Z toho vyplývá, že pro podstatná jména v množném čísle se neurčitý člen nepoužívá. 4.      Před podstatným jménem v množném čísle a před nepočitatelným jménem můžeme neurčitý člen nahradit zájmenem SOME. (Ineed some pens. I need some bread)

4 Člen určitý (The Definite Article)
Stojí před podstatnými jmény, které už známe, o kterých už byla řeč. Má stejný tvar "THE" pro jednotné i množné číslo počitatelných podstatných jmen i pro nepočitatelná podstatná jména a má význam jako oslabené ukazovací zájmeno TEN. Většinou ho nepřekládáme. Určitý člen specifikuje a určuje jedince, takže je zřejmé, o kterého jedince tohoto  názvu jde. Jeho úkolem je zdůraznit, konkretizovat.
