To express a future decision,intention, or plan made before the moment of speaking. What are you going to do after school? 2. When we can see now that something is certain to happen in the future. The woman is pregnant. She is going to have a baby. PRESENT CONTINUOUS is used: 1. To express a planned future arrangement. What are you doing on Saturday? – We are having a party.
