20th CENTURY After Austrian army was defeated at the Battle of Hradec Králové, its huge fortifications were torn down and the town began to develop quickly At the beginning of the 20th century a zoning plan was worked out and fine urbanism was put in place First two decades of the 20th century saw major construction activity
