4 The Old Town Hall founded in the 14th century

the astronomical dial dates back to 1410 constructed by the clock-maker Mikuláš of Kadaň it shows the position of the Sun in the sky, the phases of the Moon and the signs of Zodiac it also shows different times there are wooden figures as well as figures of 12 apostles obr. 7

6 The Gunpowder Tower in the Square of the Republic it is 65 metres high
186 steps lead to its top built in the 15th century was a storehouse for gun-powder at the end of the 18th century obr. 8

7 The Municipal House a jewel of the Prague Art Nouveau period

now closed and reconstructed, planned reopening on the hundredth anniversary of its foundation in 2018 we can see permanent expositions, collections of zoology, mineralogy, palaeontology, history, archaeology and of numismatics there obr. 13

reopened with Smetana´s opera Libuše in 1883 (after a fire) built from the money collected by the Czech people in the Neo-Renaissance style by Josef Zítek and Josef Schulz decorated by the 19th century artists, such as Mikoláš Aleš, Vojtěch Hynais, František Ženíšek and J. V. Myslbek obr. 14

12 The National Gallery established in the 20th century
