Číslo projektu: CZ.1.07/1.5.00/ Vytvořeno: říjen 2012 Ročník: 3. ročník a 4. ročník – čtyřleté gymnázium (RVP-G) Septima a Oktáva – osmileté gymnázium (RVP-G) Anotace: Tento materiál by vytvořen jako téma pro maturitní okruh: The Czech Republic. Education na Gymnáziu a JŠ Svitavy; přibližně na jednu, popřípadě více vyučovacích hodin (pro výklad i opakování – shrnutí učiva). Obsahuje jednak přehled faktografických údajů, tak i anglickou ustálenou terminologii, doplněné o interaktivní cvičení: otázky a samostatný rozvoj řečových dovedností na dané téma (role-play). Je primárně zaměřen na dva poslední ročníky gymnázia, i přesto se dá využít i v nižších ročnících osmiletého i čtyřletého studia vcelku nebo jeho jednotlivé části. The Czech Education system
School attendance is compulsory/ obligatory from the age of 6 to 15 Kinds of schools: state schools (free of charge, have to pay for their textbooks) private (school fees) church (school fees) or at home All schools are coeducational (boys and girls) No uniforms Disabled children are educated separately Two terms (September-January, February-June) Marks from 1 to 5 (1 is the best, 5 is the worst) School report

PRE- SCHOOL EDUCATION crèches for children up to 3 years of age
nursery schools for children aged 3 to 6 kindergartens last year – compulsory Children learn: how to draw the basics of counting names of colours, seasons, rhymes, songs the basics of social behaviour they exercise, dance, visit cultural facilities (theatre, cinema, …)

PRIMARY /ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
at the age of 6 until 15 compulsory school attendance Some pupils can transfer to grammar schools at the age of 11 = pass an entrance examination number of teachers at a lower primary school, at a higher primary school subjects at a lower primary school, at a higher primary school state schools – no fees school year: two terms

SECONDARY EDUCATION At the age of 15 a) grammar schools
with general - academic education (8-year grammar or 4-year grammar schools) prepare students for university study b) secondary professional/special schools technical colleges, specialised in building, chemistry, engineering etc. business academies, agricultural schools, secondary medical schools, secondary teacher-training school secondary music and art schools - professional education c) vocational schools training would-be workers for practical jobs

School-leaving examination
is taken in four subjects at grammar schools, written or oral or both State Exam (Czech, ForeignLanguage or Maths) Profile – school Exam ( optional - science subjects or humanities or more subjects at specialised schools) draw a number and after 20minutes' preparation speak on the topic and solve given tasks -15 min. after passing - receive Maturita Exam Certificate can apply for study at universities and colleges

SVITAVY GRAMMAR SCHOOL
