Obsahuje přehled slovní zásoby a základní frazeologie doplněný o cvičení na upevnění a procvičení dané slovní zásoby. Zahrnuta jsou i cvičení na samotný rozvoj mluvní dovednosti v dané tematické oblasti. Materiál je primárně zaměřen na dva poslední ročníky gymnázia, i přesto se dá využít i v nižších ročnících osmiletého i čtyřletého studia vcelku nebo jeho jednotlivé části. 7 TOM Let me introduce myself. My name is Tom. I come from England, so I’m British. I’m 22 years old. My birthday is on 22nd May. I live in the city of London, which is the capital of my country. I’m a student at London Metropolitan University, where I study human resources management. My favourite subjects are sociology and psychology because they help me understand how people think. There are three people in my family {parents and a younger sister}. My father works as a clerk and my mum makes a living as a nurse. I would like to become a manager because I like working with people. In my spare time, I often go jogging or hiking and I sometimes visit art galleries. I never spend my free time surfing the Internet.

8 Tom I’m a Christian and I go to church every week. My favourite band is Nightwish because I like rock music. The best movie I have ever seen is Pearl Harbor, which is full of heart-breaking scenes. I also love travelling to other countries. I have already been not only to many European countries but also to the USA. My homeland is full of charming places such as old castles, important sights in the capital or beautiful beaches in Brighton. I'm a student of Spanish because I want to travel across South America.

14 What I look like Let me say a few words on my physical appearance. I am quite a tall woman with long straight blonde hair. I have got a roundish face with smooth complexion. Because I go jogging every day, I am slender and I’m in good shape. I used to wear a brace to straighten my teeth. My boyfriend really loves my thick lips and large eyes with long eyelashes. Many people say that I am a pretty woman with a perfect figure and that’s why I would like to become a model.
