Phrasal Verbs I
English language is more or less special with the use of so called phrasal verbs – verbs + preposition(s) where the meaning is often hard or impossible to guess. This presentation introduces three very common verbs BELOOKGET used as phrasal verbs.
Phrasal Verbs I BE + preposition + INShe‘s in.= inside her home / office + ONWhat‘s on?= What‘s on the programme? + OFFI am off to bed.= I am going to bed. The milk is off.= It can‘t be used anymore. + INTOHe‘s into horses. = He is interested in horses. + AWAYHe is away on holiday.= … away from here. + UPWhat‘s up? = What is going on? + UP TOWhat are they up to? = What are they getting ready for? It is up to you.= You must make a decision.
