I´d like to buy a new car. * Try and remember can be followed by –ing but the meaning changes. E.g. Why don’t you try sleeping with an open window? = experiment Do you remember meeting him? = remember smt after it happened

Negatives Compare: She promised not to tell the news to anybody. She did not promise to tell the news to everybody. She did not promise not to tell the news to everybody. They asked us not to worry about it.
