Anotace : o Prezentace je určena žákům 8. a 9. tříd. Je určena k seznámení, příp. k zopakování učiva týkajícího se vánočních zvyků v anglicky mluvících zemích. o Nejdříve se žáci seznámí s pojmem Vánoce a s vánočními zvyky ve Velké Británii od 24.prosince do 1. ledna. o Ve snímku 7 mají uvést anglické názvy všech pěti uvedených dní. o Na závěr si mohou vyzkoušet vánoční kvíz. o Prezentaci lze ukončit rozhovorem se žáky o Vánocích v GB nebo se lze vrátit ke snímku 7 a žáci mohou popisovat jednotlivé vánoční dny a zvyky, které je provázejí.

As the clock Big Ben strikes midnight, people link arms and and sing a song called Auld Lang Syne. It reminds them of old and new friends. On New year´s Day the British have a tradition of “first footing“ – the first person to enter the house should be a dark-haired man. If not, one can expect bad luck in the coming year. People in the UK love to enjoy every minute of the going year. Parties, dance and live performances are some of the events of New Year.
