3 Stationary parts of combustion engines

4 Meaning:  Placement of rotary engine parts  Remove heat from combustion space  Protects moving parts of engine Usage: Cars, handling cars

5  Cylinder block– inserted cylinders, drilled cylinders  Crankcase– placement of crankshaft  Cylinder head– it forms and closes combustion space  Bottom engine tank– oil reservoir

6  Placement of crankshaft and camshaft  Cooling liquid and engine oil flows inside engine block  Engine block cooled by air is fitted with fins  Cylinders are placed into engine block or drilled into engine block  Material of engine block is aluminium alloy or cast iron

7  It is a part of engine block  It is placed at the bottom part of engine block  It is adjusted for crankshaft placing  The shape determines number of crankshaft placing  There are sometimes placed balanced shafts  At 2-stroke engines, crankshaft and engine cylinder are connected by bypass channel.

8  It closes combustion space  Determines the shape of combustion space  Shapes of combustion space:  Roofing – heating plug is in the middle of combustion space  With anti-detonation hole – heating plug is placed in the side of combustion space  Heron´s – combustion space is inside piston

9  It is placed in bottom part of engine block  There is stored the engine oil  It must be deep enough to prevent soaking of crankshaft into engine oil  Crankcase is sometimes divided by partition wall  It is protected by special cover at off-road cars
