Y RD Z Minimal requirements for unified … -AJP-4.1(A) XXXX unique 4- digit number assigned to STANAG / STANREC Y edition number- increasing series of Arabic numbers: 1, 2, 3... Z series number of ratification (RD) / approval (AD) draft within the edition: 1, 2, 3... Example of covering document designation during its life cycle: STANAG 1000 Ed. 1 SD 1STANREC 2000 Ed. 1 SD 1 STANAG 1000 Ed. 1 RD 1STANREC 2000 Ed. 1 AD 1 STANAG 1000 Ed. 1STANREC 2000 Ed. 1 STANAG 1000 Ed. 2 RD 1… STANAG 1000 Ed. 2 Note: Older STANAGs, promulgated according earlier editions of AAP-03, sometime contain agreement text and standards itself as an agreement annex. Editorial changes of such standards was solved by STANAG amendments – e.g. STANAG 4586 Ed. 2 Am 1.

First letter must be A, the last one P Example: AvvvP-X (Y)(Z) Minimal requirements for unified … vvv English alphabet acronym specific for the standardization area, e.g.: A=Administrative, Mov=Movement, L=Logistics, T=Tactical publication, … X series number within the AP series - 1, 2... (also could be hierarchical: 3, 3.1, 3.1.1, …) Y English letter designating AP edition - increasing series of Eng. alphabet: A, B, C... Z series number of AP version within the edition - increasing series of Arabic numbers 1, 2.. Example of allied publication designation : AMedP-19, AMovP-3(B), AAP-03(J)(2) Note: Every higher edition of operational AP has a following letter of Eng. alphabet in parenthesis. The 1st (earlier 2nd) AP Edition is designated by letter A; Some AP editions are numbered by Arabic numbers (e.g. AECTP-500 Ed. 4), or there is a year of edition in the parenthesis (e.g. AAP-15(2013)); For minor changes in new APs in framework of one edition are used „versions“. For older APs were minor changes of AP incorporated as „supplements“ (e.g. AECP-2(C) SUPP) or „changes“ (e.g. ADatP-3(A) Ch 1).

4 Úřad pro obrannou standardizaci, katalogizaci a státní ověřování jakosti Odbor obranné standardizace 4 Standardization documents update according to AAP-3(J)(2) CHANGEDESCRIPTIONRESULTS Amendment A minor change that has no significant impact on the use made by the interested parties of a standardization document. Amendment is approved by the appropriate TA/DTA. Then, the new version of a NATO standard or standards-related document (AP/MP) is promulgated by the DNSO. New version An amendment results in a new version of a standard and its SRD but not of its NATO covering document, STANREC or STANAG. Example: AXXP-01(D)(1) is superseded by AXXP-01(D)(2) Revision A major change that has an impact on the use made by the interested parties of a standardization document. Any STANAG and STANREC would also need a new edition, and therefore STANAG a new ratification process and STANRECs a new approval process. New edition A revision results in a new edition of a standard, its SRD and its NATO covering documents. Example: AXXP-01(C)(3) is superseded by the new edition AXXP-01(D)(1), STANAG YYYY(3) is superseded by the new edition STANAG YYYY(4) or STANREC YYYY(3) is superseded by the new edition STANREC YYYY(4).
