3 If you go to south west England, you will arrive in Dorset, the county located on the English Channel coast.

4 Jurassic Coast Dorset is a county of spectacular landscape. The Jurassic Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its amazing limestone cliffs exhibit 180 million years of geologic history.

5 Durdle Door The most eye- catching geological formation is called the “Durdle Door”.

6 Maiden Castle Dorset is a county with a long history of human settlement. The region is rich in artefacts and monuments from the Neolithic era. After 43 AD, Roman invaders defeated local tribes and established their colony there. Later, in the Middle Ages, Saxons settled in the area.

7 Cerne Abbas Giant The eccentric figure of Cerne Abbas Giant is an image made from white chalk in the hillside close to the village of Cerne Abbas. The image was mentioned in 1764 for the first time. The hill figure (51 x55 m) became an important part of cultural life and it is owned by the National Trust.

8 Homer Simpson In modern times the place has been used for publicity and advertisements. The picture shows Homer Simpson for the opening of “The Simpsons Movie” in 2007.

9 Dorchester High Street Dorchester, a historic market town, is the municipal centre of Dorset. The Dorset County Museum displays many objects commemorating the Roman invasion, e.g. coins, mosaics, coffins and other items.

10 Dorset Cottage A large number of picturesque Dorset cottages attract the attention of passers-by and let them fly from reality to romance.
