Have to - must I must go to school. - I have to go to school. Musím jít do školy. Must – vnitřní přesvědčení Have to – vnější okolnosti, autorita Have to - významové sloveso => potřebuje pomocné sloveso (do, did), přejímá koncovku –s ve 3. os.č.j., užívá minulý tvar (had to) Mustn‘t – nesmět X don‘t have to - nemuset

Use with the present tense We use have to with the present simple I have to lie in bed. In 3 rd person singular we say has to He has to run long tracks every training. She has to do the homework. I have to read this book./ He has to read … I don’t have to read it./ She doesn’t have to … Do you have to speak now?/Does he have to speak?

Past form Must doesn’t have the past form so we use had to only I had to go to work at New Year. I didn’t have to work all weekend. Did you have to stay at home?

Future form Future form is expressed with will I will have to write two essays this afternoon. I won’t have to learn the vocabulary. Will you have to work all day?
