Links to Cited References will work correctly making a more comprehensive resource. Related Records will be generated on all content, improving the power of the search capability (Note: this doesn’t really make any difference to WoS, but a vast improvement on the ISI Proceedings Related Record functionality) Times Cited will include links to both citing articles and citing proceedings. This is a major change. Remember that this feature was not available for the previous version of ISI Proceedings at all, so is a major enhancement. This will results in some WoS records experiencing a sudden jump in citation counts as the ISI Proceedings content is added. IMPORTANT NOTE when discussing the Online Search -- Connections to online databases through EndNote Web originate from the EndNote Web server rather than the users’ library server, so IP authentication or proxy authentication will not take place. What this means is that one will not be able to search databases using IP authentication (except for ISI Web of Knowledge). This needs to be made clear so as not to mislead potential users. Also, Find Duplicates -- EndNote Web compares references and identifies duplicates based on the following fields: Author, Year, Title, Reference Type

A much requested enhancement to the Web of Science. Author affiliations are tracked, in the same way as the original document. It is clear which author belongs to which institution. We have been capturing this data since January 2008, so when this new feature is activated it will be back dated to the beginning of the year. At this time the affiliations are not searchable, just displayed.

Note that in this display of top Immunology journals the 5-Year Impact Factor is, with the exception of one journal, lower than the traditional 2-Year Impact factor. Immunology is a life science discipline that is typically “fast moving” and therefore this makes perfect sense that articles are cited more quickly, and may lose some citation impact after the first few years.

Horizontal lines above and below the box represent maximum and minimum values that are no more than 1.5 times the span of the interquartile range, which is the range of values between the 25th and the 75th percentiles. H-index). Tato komunita rovněž podporuje spolupráci výzkumníků z celého světa. The large number of name ambiguity issues in the research literature (i.e. common names, maiden names, variant spelling), can have a significant consequences for individuals, institutions, and funding agencies. At the individual level, name ambiguity affects research accuracy & quality, career advancement & tenure, funding of work, and global collaboration. Institutions and Funding Agencies need to be able to measure output by institution, department, subject; Establish and make comparison to baselines; Identifying and benchmark to peers; Finding and tracking category leaders. Thomson Reuters has recognized the need for a system that will enable individual researchers and their sponsoring organizations to register for a unique researcher identification number. Coupled with a small layer of metadata, the ResearcherID registry is able to build a relationship between a person, their institutional afflation, and scholarly output.

Izmir, Turkey - 15 May 2008 One may access and work within EndNote Web at any time, not solely through the ISI Web of Knowledge platform. A good place to start -- download the EndNote Web plug-in. This will insert EndNote Web access buttons within your IE Explorer or FireFox browsers, as well as placing an EndNote Web toolbar within Microsoft Word. Though EndNote Web is indeed a component of ISI Web of Knowledge, working seamlessly with platform resources, it can be accessed directly – one need not be within the ISI Web of Knowledge platform to open and utilize information saved within EndNote Web. The button placed within an IE Explorer (for Windows) or FireFox toolbar provides one-click access. The EndNote Web MS Word toolbar provides fantastic support of the paper-writing process – more on this later in the presentation.

IMPORTANT NOTE when discussing the Online Search -- Connections to online databases through EndNote Web originate from the EndNote Web server rather than the users’ library server, so IP authentication or proxy authentication will not take place. What this means is that one will not be able to search databases using IP authentication (except for ISI Web of Knowledge). This needs to be made clear so as not to mislead potential users. Also, Find Duplicates -- EndNote Web compares references and identifies duplicates based on the following fields: Author, Year, Title, Reference Type
