I am going to show you some places of interest in Australia in this presentation there are going to be following places: Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, Fraser Island, Kakadu NP, Blue Mountains and Shark Bay

3 Great Barrier Reef

4 Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system
lies a short distance off the north-east cost and extends for over 2,000 kilometres 2,900 individual reefs temperature of water varies from 18 to 33⁰ C World Heritage Site since 1981

5 Great Barrier Reef II belongs among seven natural wonders of the world
is a very popular destination for tourists supports a diversity of life – for example more than 1,500 fish species or 2,150 known plant species live or grow on the reef

6 Uluru

7 Uluru is also known as Ayers Rock
is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory is a part of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a sacred to the Anangu – the Aboriginal people is listed as a World Heritage Site

8 Fraser Island

9 Fraser Island is biggest sand island in the world
James Cook discovered this island in 1770 there are purest lakes in the world original residents lived there 5,000 years ago rare pure Dingo dogs live only on this island is listed as a World Heritage Site since 1992

10 Kakadu National Park is a protected area in the Northern Territory
contains rocks, falls, rivers, lakes and forrests lots of species of animals and plants there is a uranium mine in the middle of this park is a popular tourist destination is listed as a World Heritage Site since 1981

11 Blue Mountains

12 Blue Mountains is a mountainious region in New South Wales
there are lots of sandstone rocks and mountains Jenolan Caves – the oldest discovered open caves in the world Aboriginal paintings in caves is listed as a World Heritage Site

13 Shark Bay

14 Shark Bay is the westernmost point in Australia
is divided by shallow banks and has many peninsulas and islands there are about 300 km of limestone cliffs has got its name after lots of sharks living there is listed as a World Heritage Site
