2 Glutathion (GSH) Tripeptide Glutathion has many biological functions
Glutathione exists in both reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) states. In the reduced state, the thiol group of cysteine is able to donate a reducing equivalent (H++ e−) to other unstable molecules, such as reactive oxygen species.

8 Summary New rapid and highly sensitive coumarin-based probe (probe 1) has been designed and synthesized for detecting intracellular GSH It was converted into a latent fluorescence probe, which allowed it to achieve high sensitivity (LOD 122 nM) and fluorescence turn-on response (F/F0>15) toward GSH over other various natural amino acids in PBS buffer solution at pH 7.4.
