Jack London (1876-1916) 19th century novelist and journalist
known for his adventure novels born on January 12, 1876, in San Francisco, California grew up as a member of working class, had different jobs: shoveled coal, worked on sealing ship or in a cannery in his spare time, he went to libraries to read novels and travel books his literary career began in 1893, when he took part in a writing competition and won he desired to make his living as a writer, but did not find willing publishers

Jack London decided to make his way to the Yukon to make a fortune in the gold rush failed and went back to California armed with the experience of great poverty, he believed he had a lot to write about started publishing short stories in the Overland Monthly in 1903 one of his greatest novels The Call of the Wild came out married Bess Madern and the couple had two daughters together, but their marriage lasted just 2 years London grappled with alcoholism all his life died of kidney disease at his ranch in California
