Irena Moučková Název práce: Past continuous – minulý čas průběhový – výklad Předmět: anglický jazyk Ročník: 1 Časová dotace: 45 minut Vzdělávací cíl: Prezentace učiva v powerpointu. V první části se studenti seznámí s tvořením minulého času průběhového. V druhé části jsou prezentovány situace, kde se minulý čas průběhový používá v kontrastu s použitím minulého času prostého. V třetí části si studenti procvičí používání minulého času prostého a průběhového. Správnost cvičení si porovnají s řešením. Pomůcky: psací potřeby, sešit Poznámka: Studenti si přepíší cvičení do sešitu se správnými tvary sloves. Vymění si pak sešity a porovnají doplněné slovesné tvary navzájem a posléze s řešením na promítacím plátně. Inovace: Zapojení audiovizuální techniky do výuky ;

2 Past continuous We form the past continuous like this:
We form the past continuous like this: was/were + verb + -ing form of the main verb – Elizabeth was eating. We form the negative like this: Was/were + not + verb + -ing form of the main verb – The children were not/weren´t listening. We form the question like this: Was/were + subject + verb + -ing form of the main verb – Were you playing?

3 We use the past continuous:
to describe an action lasting for some time or serving as the background to other events. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. A past simple action can interrupt a past continuous activity in progress. It was raining when the accident happened. The activity was in progress before and probably after a time in the past. What were you doing at 8.00 last night? – I was watching TV. When I woke up this morning, the sun was shining

4 Practise. Choose the correct tense: past simple or past continuous.
Last winter, I had/was having a nasty accident while I skied/was skiing. I was with my frond Joe. It was a beautiful morning. The sun shone/was shining and lots of people skied/was skiing. Suddenly, Joe lost/was losing kontrol as he was going round a Conner and crashed/was crashing into me. I fell/was falling and broke my leg.An air ambulance arrived/was arriving and took/was taking me to hospital. I was in hospital for two weeks.
