Číslo projektu: CZ.1.07/1.5.00/ Vytvořeno: leden 2014 Ročník: 3. ročník a 4. ročník – čtyřleté gymnázium (RVP-G) Septima a Oktáva – osmileté gymnázium (RVP-G) Anotace: Tento materiál by vytvořen jako téma pro maturitní okruh: National sports in the UK na Gymnáziu a JŠ Svitavy; přibližně na jednu, popřípadě více vyučovacích hodin (pro výklad i opakování – shrnutí učiva). Obsahuje jednak přehled faktografických údajů, tak i anglickou ustálenou terminologii, doplněné o interaktivní cvičení: vzdělávací videa, rozhovory s diskuzí na dané téma (role-play). Je primárně zaměřen na dva poslední ročníky gymnázia, i přesto se dá využít i v nižších ročnících osmiletého i čtyřletého studia vcelku nebo jeho jednotlivé části. 10 BOXING Objective: to knock out or fight better than opponent

11 LAWN TENNIS Objective:

13 ROWING Objective: athletes race against each other in shells

14 POLO Objectives: is to score goals against an opposing team

15 HURLING Objective: H-shaped goalposts at each end, formed by two posts, which are usually 6–7 metres high players use a wooden stick called a hurley to hit a small ball called a sliotar /ˈʃlɪtər/ between the opponents' goalposts –over/under sliotar can be caught in the hand and carried for not more than four steps, struck in the air, or struck on the ground with the hurley. 18 BOXING DAYS HUNTS traditionally Boxing Day is a day for foxhunting
the huntsmen and huntswomen ride horses they use dogs, too the dogs (fox hounds) follow the smell of the fox before a Boxing Day hunt, the huntsmen and huntswomen drink hot wine the tradition of the December 26th hunt is changing some people want to stop Boxing Day hunts (and other hunts, too) they don't like foxhunting for them it is not a sport - it is cruel - video
