2 Anotace Kód Dumu : VY_32_INOVACE_3.AJ.16 Číslo projektu: CZ.1.07/1.5.00/ Vytvořeno: leden 2013 Ročník: 3. ročník a 4. ročník - čtyřleté gymnázium (RVP-G) Septima a Oktáva - osmileté gymnázium (RVP-G) Vzdělávací oblast : Jazyk a jazyková komunikace Vzdělávací obor: Anglický jazyk Tematický okruh: English speaking countries - New Zealand Anotace: Tento materiál byl vytvořen jako téma pro maturitní okruh: Anglicky mluvící země na Gymnáziu a JŠ Svitavy přibližně na jednu, popřípadě více vyučovacích hodin (pro výklad i opakování – shrnutí učiva). Obsahuje jednak přehled faktografických údajů, tak i anglickou ustálenou terminologii, doplněné o interaktivní cvičení: samostatný ústní projev – prezentace. Je primárně zaměřen na dva poslední ročníky gymnázia, i přesto se dá využít i v nižších ročnících osmiletého i čtyřletého studia vcelku nebo jeho jednotlivé části Pomůcky: interaktivní tabule

hot springs, volcanoes, steaming mud pools geysers glaciers: Franz Joseph, Fox Glacier – visitors can hike up or even fly over in a helicopter evergreen forest warm climate

the largest and the most cosmopolitan city: Auckland – both cities in the North Island Hamilton – not far from Auckland – a centre of dairy farming Christchurch – the largest city in the South Island Dunedin – the wool-processing, tourist and educational centre (in the South Island)

7 Government the structure of government is based on the British parliamentary system, belongs to the British Commonwealth of Nations. !! but NZ is an independent nation 3 branches: the Legislature (Parliament – House of Representatives, the only chamber, 120 members) the Executive the Judiciary power is divided among these branches

15 History Polynesians first settled the islands about years ago, naming the islands Aotearoa („Land of the Long White Cloud“) the Maoris - their descendants, originally cannibals traditional dance of the Maoris: haka dance the Maori language is also the official language, but English is more widely spoken

17 History the islands were discovered by Abel Tasman in 1642 – first NZ was a Dutch colony James Cook claimed the country for GB in 1769 NZ was named after a part of Holland – Zealand the first Europeans settlers: from the UK, mainly after 1840 as NZ became a part of the British Empire 1907 – NZ a self-governing dominion within the British Empire an independent country now, a full member of the British Commonwealth

18 Few interesting facts films are often shot there, especially for NZ´s countryside, e.g. Lord of the Rings (Oscar winning) the first country in the world to give women the right to vote in 1893 New Zealanders are called kiwis rugby is very popular the world´s second largest exporter of wool (agricultural country)
