Look out! Care for means 1) like, love: I´m fond of her but I don ´t care for her husband. 2) treat, be responsible of, take care of: Our neighbours are going to care for our dog when we are on holiday.

Care about means be interested, be concerned, mostly in negative sentences: I don ´care (about) what will happen with him. Typical of sb/st = having the usual qualities or features of a particular person, thing or group. But: The weather at the moment is not typical for July.
