What this means is that one will not be able to search databases using IP authentication (except for ISI Web of Knowledge). This needs to be made clear so as not to mislead potential users. Also, Find Duplicates -- EndNote Web compares references and identifies duplicates based on the following fields: Author, Year, Title, Reference Type

The citing articles are those papers that contain the citations to the source papers and these are also included in your dataset for analysis. The number of citing articles is always equal to or lower than the number of citations because one article may contain multiple citations to the source papers. The citing articles are presented in a bar chart showing year in which they were published and then in a table ordered by number of times cited. The table can be reordered by the number of references made to the source articles, the publication year, article type, author, journal or article title in alphabetical order. Here we can see the number of times these papers were cited and these are termed second generation citations. It is interesting to see the number of second generation citations the citing papers have received because it provides an indication of the quality of the citing papers and thus the long term, or indirect influence of your source papers. For each paper, InCites calculates two numbers: the actual citations received and the expected citations. The expected citations are defined as the mean number of citations received by all Web of Science papers published in the same subject field, the same year and are the same document type, e.g. Review or Article. Then for each author, we calculate the total number of actual citations received and divide it by the total number of expected citations. This is what we term the Category Actual versus Expected Cites, or CXC for short. Now we really can make a valid comparison between the biologists and the economists. Thomson Reuters InCites

Institutions can upload content on behalf of their researchers Upload researcher names  Obtain a ResearcherID account Upload individual publication portfolios  Articles are matched to Web of Science records and ResearcherID portfolios are generated ResearcherID Batch Upload Process: Customer supplies information on profiles to create / publications to upload using the ResearcherID Upload Web Service. The ResearcherID batch process sends the customer an upon commencement of processing, with estimated completion time. Upon completion, ResearcherID sends customer notification that processing has completed along with reports with processing statistics. Download data about the individuals at your institution Names and name variants, current and past affiliations Download ResearcherID publication portfolios Bibliographic details of each item in the portfolio For articles that were successfully matched to Web of Science records there will be a Times Cited count and UT tag. Can be used by the customers for their own internal systems The ResearcherID Download service is a subscription-based web service that allows an entitled institution the ability to download publication and profile data for their researchers from the ResearcherID database. In order to download information, the researcher needs to “associate” with the institution by one of two methods: 1.) The researcher profile/publication list created by the ResearcherID upload service; or 2.) The researcher's account is manually associated via the ResearcherID support utility. The Download service easily allows an institution to download publications for all researchers at their institution who are members of ResearcherID. Academic administrators and librarians are the primary audience; however, the service would need to be implemented by an IT librarian/staff as use of the service requires familiarity with XML and web service protocols.
