2 Mendel University It was established on 24 July 1919.
BAT centrum, Republic reference laboratory of biogas transformations Mendel University It was established on 24 July 1919. It is named since 1994 after Gregor Mendel, the botanist and "father of genetics", who was active in Brno city during his lifetime. Energy utilization and the need for mitigation of environmental impacts associated with energy production from fossil fuels, has accelerated the deployment of renewable fuels such as biogas. In response to this demand the reference laboratory of biogas transformations in Czech Republic was established. The laboratory is located in the Mendel university in Brno. There is 12 years experience in biogas research now. Several studies were performed lately dealing with biogas production…… technical improvements, studying feeding strategies and types of raw substrates and studying environmental impacts of biogas deployment. This workplace has 12 years experience in biogas research.

The reference laboratory is equiped with six (6) batch fermenters with volume 130 dm3 each. There are another 2 experimental fermenters with volume 130 dm3 each with full automatic online measurement.
