Číslo projektu: CZ.1.07/1.5.00/ Vytvořeno: září 2012 Ročník: 3. ročník a 4. ročník – čtyřleté gymnázium (RVP-G) Septima a Oktáva – osmileté gymnázium (RVP-G) Anotace: Tento materiál by vytvořen jako téma pro maturitní okruh: Science and Technology. Nature na Gymnáziu a JŠ Svitavy; přibližně na jednu, popřípadě více vyučovacích hodin (pro výklad i opakování – shrnutí učiva). Obsahuje jednak přehled faktografických údajů, tak i anglickou ustálenou terminologii, doplněné o interaktivní cvičení: otázky pro ověření míry porozumění, fotografie pro nácvik popisu obrázku, poslechy s porozuměním. Je primárně zaměřen na dva poslední ročníky gymnázia, i přesto se dá využít i v nižších ročnících osmiletého i čtyřletého studia vcelku nebo jeho jednotlivé části. 4 WEATHER VOCABULARY It is raining / snowing / hailing / freezing.
It is sunny / rainy / windy / snowy. It is (quite x too) cold / cool / warm / hot and dry. It is cloudy / overcast. It is foggy / misty. It is damp / wet / humid. It is drizzly / pouring with rain. It is bright / dull. It is icy and changeable / stable. It is raining / snowing / hailing / freezing. The sun is shining. The snow is falling. The wind is blowing / howling. There are no / some / a lot of clouds in the sky. There is a thunderstorm / rainbow / gale / heat wave.

5 WEATHER VOCABULARY There are some (April) showers.
The sun is coming out / rising. The sun is going down / setting. There is a dawn. It is a sun set. It is a clear day. / The sky is clear. It is grey and slushy. I hate sleet. The temperature is rising / falling. The temperature has risen / fallen. The temperature is about (20) degrees C. It is above / below zero. Etc..

6 VOCABULARY ASSOCIATED WITH WEATHER
It will probably be a lot hotter. The snow is melting. We get tornadoes and hurricanes / bush fires and droughts. Winters were probably much harsher. The roads are slippery. Occasional hailstorms occur in summer. Etc.. There are often breezes / winds and storms. The weather is nice. People are afraid of avalanches and blizzards. I prefer hot summers with a lot of sunshine. Springtime is rainy. There is a danger of flood. It is spring /summer / autumn (fall) / winter.
