Canada
borders the U.S.A. in the south, the Arctic Ocean in the north, the Atlantic Ocean in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the west. It´s the second largest country in the world. It´s devided into ten provinces and three territories. It´s a bilingual – English and French are spoken – and multicultural country. Canada has got warm summers and cold winters but in the north it´s arctic.
Canada is an independent federal state and a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations. The Canadian national flag is red and white with the red maple leaf.
Canada is known for its varied countryside. It has got about thirty national parks, beautiful waterfalls. Every visitor to Canada wants to see Niagara Falls (There are partly in Canada and partly in the U.S.A.).
Thanks to agriculture, forestry, fishing and industry Canada belongs among the richest countries in the world.
Ottawa (Ontario) is the capital city of Canada.
Toronto is the most populated city and the capital of Ontario.
Montréal is the second largest city of Canada, the largest city of Québec and a French-speaking city.
