Description Reciprocating compressor - it is reaching changes in the volume of gas linear reciprocating piston in the cylinder. When the piston down the gas intake valve absorbs the upward movement of the gas is compressed and pushes the discharge valve from the cylinder. Pistons may either be powered by turning the crank shaft, or directly to other oscillating piston engine (such as steam compressor)
